So many things make this design a game changer, not only does this single patch work for both LHCP and RHCP but also has a much higher axial ratio than most other FR4 based Patch antenna.

So the first thing that really sets this antenna is that it can be used for both RHCP and LHCP.
We include a coax extension and a 50ohm dummy load for the best potential RF performance.
One reason we have not had a patch antenna up until this point, is that the axial ratio was not very good especially off axis. (Many other antennas become more of a linear antenna when flying just off of center) This new design from Maarten/Robin maintains its axial ratio very well at many different angels and has a very smooth radiation pattern!
With 9.4db of gain you will be able to punch through more and get longer range than many other patch antennas on the market.
Center frequency: 5.8 GHz
Bandwidth: 660 MHz (5.47 – 6.13 GHz)
Matching: S11 < -20 dB, VSWR < 1.22 (at center frequency)
Axial ratio: < 1.3
Antenna gain: 9.4 dBi
Half power beam width: 55° (horizontal and vertical)
Radiation efficiency: 83.5%
Really impressed with image quality and range
I tried a bunch of different antennas before and this is the best really good range and very clear video image A+
Still one of my favorites after 6 months.
This thing is a great all around antenna. I've been pretty rough on in and it's held up wonderfully. This and a tall pogoda 2 (with printed cover) pretty much live on my goggles.
